A choice between:
#1 = Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM (external link) AutoFocus Telephoto Zoom Lens with case & hood - Refurbished - $1100 USD

#2 = Canon Zoom Telephoto EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM (external link) Autofocus Lens - $1900 USD

:o:oops: tight budget mind here.

An used 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM for around 1500!

yea i picked up a 'used' 2.8L IS for 1400 on ebay. it looked mint. the seller gave me his receipt too so it's legit. score!


500D+grip, EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS, EF 50mm f/1.4, EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS, Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8

yeah, pick up a used model as new as you can find one. People are letting them go to get the new IS II so you can find them all over the place for pretty good deals

Find out what the refurbished warranty is. Places like Adorama offer one year in house warranties on refurbished bodies (I don't know about lenses). I'd rather buy a used lens with no warranty than a refurbished lens.

Oh and I will never buy from Dell :rolleyes:

IS is essential for me in telephotos since I primarily hand hold...So option 2, without a doubt.
