I've been trying for years to capture this color!! Red

Pitch black and very little light around, taken with the camera pointed towards the south, in Fort Fitzgerald, Alberta.

The white dot is Jupiter, I'm 90% sure.

Tagged on the map too, for reference.

Probably blown out by a long exposure. I normally shoot Jupiter with ~1/200 sec. My 1 or 2 sec exposures to get the moons completely blow out the planet.

Uranus is currently very close in the sky, just above and to the right (the latter will change as they progress around their orbits), perhaps they've "merged"?

Thanks Paul,

Ken; I didn't know that, I would love to learn more about where the planets are and their rotations in the northern hemisphere

Nice colors here.
I got the Starmap at Appstore and it works like a dream. Now I never have to ask what object that is visible :)

Cheers Celestron, now that I can actually shoot again my mood has improved considerably :D

Starting to go a bit locomotive with only one working arm... now that I can actually hold the damn camera for more than 5 minutes at a time, and a tripod with gear to boot, I'm out every single night.

I've never been more sleepy
