..atleast I think they are lotuses. I particularly like the first one.

These are shot on my XT with the 17-85 USM IS. No color corrections etc. I did however have to sharpen the second photo.

EDIT I re-uploaded this one after sharpening

These are Water Lillies where I live. I like the second one best - a tad sharpening would improve it. But nice shots, thanks for sharing.

Beautiful lotus! I like the composition and the reflection in #1.

Nice shots but I disagree with the one who liked the composition. You have the flower in the middle of the image instead of offset as in the rule of thirds.

one could also argue that the 1/3 rule ISN'T violated in that the plane of reflection is right there. IMO valid since the reflection is an important element. ..but that isme :)

These are both very nice shots the second one is a little centered but it isn't centered and it could be movedvery easily with a minor crop here. The first shot is the best of the two and I have always had a hard time getting that perfect shot as the lily ponds always seem to have to much garbage in the background, yours do not have that problem here.

I agree. The composition in #1 works for me as the flower and reflection occupy a lower placement within the picture, thus not really centered per say. That being said I would also say that the second one is TOO centered for my taste. Great work on the colors, esp. #1!

I like the first best as well, the second is nice but cropped too tight compared to the first and not as interesting. Very beautiful shots.
