As you look like you have an abundance of light, how about trying to use a circular poloriser, I find that they tame the image down and make the colours deeper and darker and in my opinion, improve the picture quality.

If you're loosing quality with the image hosting company, try resizing your photos to 800 or 1024 across so that the images aren't compressed by said hosting company!
