Help! Does anyone use an ExpressCard CF reader?

I recently ordered an ExpressCard CF card adapter from Ebay, but I can't seem to get Windows 7 to recognize the device properly.

Here are the steps I followed:

- I put the card reader into the ExpressCard slot, Windows did its "Installing new hardware" thing, the process completes.

- There's no new driver letter or anything of the sort in My Computer.

- I put a CF card into the card reader, nothing happens.

- I reboot, nothing happens.

- I reboot with a card installed into the card reader; I can now access the card, but Windows throws an error if I try to eject the card.

- I try removing the card anyways, and unsurprisingly the drive letter throws an error and disappears.

- Repeat.

Does anyone have any experience with this, and am I doing something wrong? The card I ordered is specifically this one: http://cgi.ebay.ca …ain_0&hash=item27b4c6ee33 (external link) , and I think at least a few members here have the same card reader.

My computer is a Lenovo ThinkPad T61 running Windows 7, and my card is a Sandisk Extreme III 8GB, if that's any help to anyone.

The Lexar UDMA expresscard unit works great on my HP laptop running Windows 7. You just follow the installation instructions. The laptop does not see anything until you put a CF card in the reader.

Woop!

It looks like the ThinkPad T61 requires you to install a driver for the JMB368 controller before you can use the device properly. I found the driver on Lenovo's site, installed it, and everything works great now.

In case anyone runs into the same issues, the link to the driver is at: http://www-307.ibm.com …lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-75200 (external link)
