Gorgeous time of day for this shot Dave - you did a beautiful job on the clouds and caught some great action on the wind-blown snow peaks. Your inclusion of the foreground trees give the mountains a nice sense of scale, something which can be easily lost. For a fellow who's been a POTN member as long as you have you should post more often . Thanks for sharing.

Ha! Tell me you're too busy out TAKING pictures and I'll believe you - I checked out your Flickr Gallery....stunning is all I can say. By any chance do you have an art history background or other training in the arts? I'm seeing something there.....

I have a large backlog of photos to process which just keeps getting bigger the more I shoot, but I guess that's a good thing.

I don't have an art history background but I am attracted to landscape photography that has a more painterly versus photo-journalist feeling to it, which I think is likely reflected in how I like to process.

I agree it certainly shows nicely, so keep it up. And share more of that backlog

That's great Steffen that you included the surfer - IMO I feel it adds a nice sense of scale that only increases the impact of the image.

This is a wonderful shot Andy and just perfect for a b/w conversion. The plow/mowing(?) lines lead the eye all around the scene to the pleasant contrasting detail of the tree line. You did a nice job on the clouds too. My only minor issue is that the horizon is a little off plumb; not a deal breaker - would make a very good photograph even better .

I agree this is a nice shot.... but on another note what if the horizon is not plumb where this photo was taken?
