I'm in Montana, and I'd like to attempt some Milky Way shots. I do a lot of photo work, but not the night sky.May sound dumb, but when setting things up on a dark mountaintop, it would help me get started if someone could note approx. which part of the sky it is located (N, S, --).
I'm thinking a series of 10-15 second shots, and stacking them?

Thanks

Great shot, the silhouetted mountains really set it off.
