Not sure what to say - there is something that just doesn't seem to work. Did you try a black and white conversion? I also think the bright specks of dust catching the light are a distraction. Maybe try sepia and the specks will add to the "old" look.

it's a very evocative photo for any horse person - quite beautiful in my eyes.

Why is the centre horse so skinny?

Greyswan, he is 22 years old and just wont retain weight even tho he eat non stop. Our friends don't ride him any more, but he always travels with us when we are out of town for more than than a few days.

Ah, nice to hear someone keeps them in old age: my horse lived to be 32, similar problem keeping the weight on him. Had to feed cubes for eight years, lol.

I don't find the 'dust' :) in the least bit distracting: part of the atmosphere with horses.

I made the comment about the dust from a photography aspect. I know dust everywhere is part of having and being around horses - I never even notice it when I am in the stable. What I meant was the way that the light catches some of the dust and "sparkles" white is a bit distracting when viewing the picture. If the idea is to get comments about the photo, that is a comment about the photo.

I like the "dusty look" Has the old horse owner had its teeth checked by a VET. they are a problem when it can't grind its food .

Yes he has had his teeth floated. He has been that way his entire life. Vet says he is healthy as a ------ well you know. LOL
