A question about ranger RX and converting Elinchrom to Bowens S-Fit

Hi, I'm about to shell out the cash for a Ranger RX, but I need definitive confirmation on two things before I do:

I'm going to be shooting outdoors using a softbox, probably around f16 to kill sunlight (with the possibility of a 4-stop ND for extra light kill). Am I right to assume that a Quadra ia nowhere near up to the job?

Also, I need a definitive answer on whether it's possible to convert an elinchrom adaptor to fit Bowens/Interfit S-type fittings.

If anyone could answer these two questions, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks guys.

Nevermind, I ended up buying an RX and a Quadra just to be sure.

Here are some power measurements done with Quadra, http://www.flickr.com …iscuss/72157624900049702/ (external link)

Hope that helps somehow :)

Well, since you already bought one of each (do I have that right?), you'll find out that the Quadra won't be powerful enough against midday sun, especially with a cloudless sky. The Ranger will be, though. As for the adapter, I hope someone else can tell you about that. Is it because you have Bowens lights or Bowens mount modifiers?
