So as i have been considering which way i would like to take my photography in the next few years i have thought long and hard about the media side of this business. As of last week, the local paper (63k daily, 90k sunday) has an opening for a photojournalist position. I applied last night with my portfolio and such but wanted to see if some of you could just be thinking about me through this time because this would be a huge step in my career.

Thanks all.

-Dave

Good luck Dave! I've watched your stuff over the last couple of years and I would be surprised if they didn't pick you up. You'll have a blast shooting for a paper, I love going out on assignments. Unfortunately, all the local papers near me don't pay much and I make more freelancing for them than I would being on staff.

What do you do for a living currently? Is this going to be a major change in occupation?

Good luck!

Thanks aaron.

Ben, not a major change but a nice one i believe. I currently just shoot sports around the area, running my own business basically. But things haven't been steady. So just looking for new outlets.

Good luck. But longer term I would look at something better. Papers are dying breed now-a-days.
