Im looking for a spot to get some images of Manhattan from the Jersey side of the river. Today being the anniversary of 9/11 I wanna captue the skyline with the twin tower lights. Where would a good spot to go be? I was thinking of going out to Hoboken, anyone know of any better locations?

for a clear view of lower manhattan, Exchange Place would be a good location in Jersey City

Weehawken has a great park and empty promenade just to the north. It may be a little higher than you're looking for, it's directly across the river from 42nd St. Here's an uncorrected panorama shot from that location:

Liberty State Park is good as well. Some of the shots I took last year can be seen on my Flickr.

I would think a lot of people are thinking the same as you are. Liberty State Park has a lot of room, easy access and lots of parking.

just a few of my thoughts...

Get on a boat, you'll have a super view.

Where the WTC Twin Towers would have been, and cast under a shadow:

I cannot thank you enough for suggesting there!! I didnt even think about that, and I got some amazing shots!!!

Question, anyone know what those things were floating around the lights? They looked like giant moths, or pieces of paper, but not really sure, all I know is they were everywhere!
