About to take the plunge and get into the extended exposure scene. My initial research reveals the Light Craft Workshop Fader ND Mk11 (ND 2 to 400) which has a certain attraction for landscape work primarily using a 24-105mmL.

Would be grateful for any one's experience with this filter.

Far too much interest in techniques, not nearly enough photographs taken!!

Bill did you ever end up getting one? I just came across LCW and would like to hear experiences too.

I use my Fader VND to drop incoming light so I can slow down the shutter speed. The main application for me is shooting waterfalls or creeks/rivers where I want a milky effect from the slow shutter speed. I works just fine and is half the cost of at least one well known VND brand.

No, a number of bad reviews put me off so I ended up getting the well reviewd B+W ND 3.0 which with 10 stop reduction is a lot of fun.

Thanks for that. I'm still flipping between variable ND's and just springing for regular ones. Like you, I may just go ahead and get some B+W's.

I bought one of these last summer and use it to slow down waterfalls and rapids on rivers. I'm an amateur with all of this stuff but I'm pretty happy with the results I've gotten.
