So i would say no to used gear i am having a hard time buying things local used if i don't know the person or history of goods IMO it would be harsh to buy and have a item defective within minutes...

It's only as sketchy as the users. When it comes to buyer protection, ebay is VERY safe. Paypal is essence of ebay, and it's what keeps POTN sales going as well

You should be able to find a good used one on this site or others for $500 to $525. Personally, I would trust individuals on this site more than someone "unknown" on EBAY.
