That said, it looks pretty narrow there so I'd hazard a guess that there's nowhere safe to stand especially with the height they're getting... www.rallycaptures.com

Sep 13, 2010 15:59 | #7 I was standing in a small clearing of about 5 yards in the middle of the trees and shrubs, think the autofocus was more on the shrubbery than the car, tried the other side of the track with no better view of the car as seen in the attached photo's Canon 1DMKIII,Canon 1DMKII, Canon400D,Canon 50mmF1.8,Canon 28-70mmF2.8L,

Sep 14, 2010 12:01 | #10 Not sure if the focusing issue is with the camera, lense (70-200 f4 L ) was using AI servo and auto focus or hosting issue, cars were coming extremly fast, almost straight on so perhaps the auto focus did not have time to focus correctly. Side on shot of the white escort should have been ok, I could perhaps sharpen in photoshop? Canon 1DMKIII,Canon 1DMKII, Canon400D,Canon 50mmF1.8,Canon 28-70mmF2.8L,

Hi what shutter speed did you use? i like i know that bit of the stage and its very dark because of the trees ? Af and AI servo needs time to track the car so maybe at worse case the first one might be soft but you would need a shutter speed of at least 1/500. Bodies: Canon 5dmk2 | Canon 1dmk3
