Rings. Any suggestions?

I'm planning on getting my third softbox for a pure white BG or maybe just a front panel diffuser for it.

Besides the dark BG, what do you think needs to be worked on? My intent isn't to make the jewelry look too good but good enough for a fast work-flow. There's no PP other than cropping and sharpening to see what I need to work on.

I'm aware of the weird reflection in the left of the second ring and think that's from the loose and wavy front panel on a softbox (needed to cover up velcro on one side of the softboxes). Also aware of the light and dark BG sections and didn't notice while I was shooting.

Just a thought, would the rings pop more if they were on a black background? Seems like the white kind of dulls the image some. Black velvet cloth, no reflection or black plexiglass for reflections making the gold stand out. I also would like to see more of the ring in focus, not so shallow DOF. But of course that is just my opinion for what it is worth. (about 2 cents...)

I can order a black acrylic stand. I had one but back then I was using fluorescent lights and had the lights too close to it and bent it way out of shape, lol. Black would be very difficult unless I use velvet under clear or frosty plexiglass. Even then it's a tough BG to shoot in this case but I'll give it a shot next week I hope.

up the conrast and the saturation and it pulls the image from the background. put more gold and blue into the image. Uh.. some like this I guess.

crimson, that's too much for my taste but I do understand what you're saying and thanks. I'm planning on doing some PP work for select photos later down the road for profile and such.

Amanda, I'm sure you understand that I would like to keep as much of a competitive edge as I can but I can tell you that I used 2 softboxes and plexi. It's nothing complicated once you figure how light plays on the jewelry.
