Just finished a studio lighting class, and thought I'd post a few images from the class. This project was "metal," and since a car does a fair approximation, I was given the green light from the instructor. He then proceeded to pick these apart as a "not-quite-there" concept (though I did show I knew what I was doing as far as strict metal lighting).

Pick apart, or not, but enjoy. ;)

He painted with some sort of flash. I can see the burst marks of light on the pavement, it's not a true "painting".

"not-quite-there"

dubbr has a nice example of using a strobe along with "late light". Notice that the strobes are NOT pointed directly at the car?
