What is everyone's thoughts on aftermarket grips/battery for this camera? I know I should just pay the money and get a Canon one.

I always get Canon grips because I know they do everything they're supposed to, feel like the camera body, and have high resale value. That's me.

I have a Canon Grip on my T1i ($175) and a Zeikos BATTERY GRIP f/CANON 5D/MARK II for the 5DM2, to be completely honest there isn't $10 worth of quality difference between the two. save the money and buy a after market that has good reviews. Oh I did read one off brand having issues with the camera reading it from time to time, I wont name the brand as I don't like flame wars, I would just read the reviews you will find that one.

I always go for Canon accessories except for the filters of course... I would read some reviews...

I have been using a cheap Chinese knock-off grip on mine for o er a year now without any issues. So, I paid less than a third the price of the canon version and it it fails I can buy two more and be a step ahead.
Just like cars, some things require OE purchse and others don't. In the end your pocketbook will make the choice that works for you.

Be happy! ;)

Haha, thanks. It's 'supposed' to be here on the 5th. You'd think Best Buy would overnight that for me. Bastads.

They are damn expensive. I posted that new one on Amazon yesterday for &180, and today they are back at $240, guess I should have jumped on it.

Thanks Lantz! All good points here! :D
