Sometimes things just happen to our advantage. I took the "long way" to work to look for photographs in the mist, and stopped the car by the little park. Took a couple of shots of the trees then this guy mooched by....just what I needed without any help from me at all, except the trigger finger! Growing old disgracefully!

Oh I think it was more than just you pushing your trigger my dear. Anybody can take a camera and press the shutter...it takes a bit more to know what settings to use and how exposure works. 5D MarkII | 50D Canon 17-40mm|55-250 | 60mm Macro | 50mm 1.4 | 24-105L IS | 580EXII | 70-200L F2.8 IS II | Ultra Zap 800 |StarFlash 300 X2 | AB 400X 2 Flickr

Anybody can take a camera and press the shutter...it takes a bit more to know what settings to use and how exposure works. What time was it taken and what lens were you using? I will have to get up early one of these mornings and take a walk about four blocks from my house and get some shots of a neat little field that has some tall grass and a pathway where the sun usually rises. Could prove to be a close to home little gold mine to go play in. ![]() Thank you for your kind words, my Queen! The trick for a shot like this, if there is any trick at all, is to under expose a fair bit. It's so easy to blow out that area around the sun, so I stopped down a third of a stop, but as I took the reading from the brightest area, most of the pic is under exposed by at least a stop or more. ISO was 400, exposure was 1/800 at 5.6. Lens was my old workhorse...the 24-70 f2.8, and I took the shot at about 8.20am. (Mid winter here of course!) Growing old disgracefully!
