I lived in the UK for a few years and quickly learned (er, was told, rather) that the only people with STi's are drug-dealers . You really never see anything past an 04-05 out there. I think I may have seen one 06-07, but nothing newer. It's unfortunate that all of Europe charges insurance based on the engine size (not that the scoobs pack a V8, but still ) In the US, I hop on the family plan, get a 'good student' discount and a good driver discount, and I'm cruisin'

Just to keep my post on topic, here is a photo of a dog.

Only if you fall into a high risk category. I keep a car there although I'm there rarely, and my insurance is about $300/year.

What cars you see depends a great deal on where you are. If you're in the south east (the area around London) you'll see all sorts of exotic machinery - my own family includes a Mercedes 600CL and a Ferrari - but away from there you'll mostly see more mundane practical cars. Black cars with blacked-out windows, especially high performance versions of ordinary cars outside their first two or three years, are generally regarded as "drug" cars and most respectable people and areas won't countenance them.

my 5d2 just stopped working on wednesday, while on vacation in chi. so bummed. I bought a 7d off a guy in the classifieds here, thank gawd, he hooked me up. great city.

it's not the clock battery, or battery. just quit, no sign of life. 1 yr old, well maintained. going back to canon next week.

I need to dust off my 5D Mark II and take her out for a spin one day. I've been having a lot of fun with the 40D and all of my crop lenses lately.
