I have literally gone through 150+ pages of this thread.

For those of you with the 24-70 f2.8, what do you think of the combo of it and the 135mm f2? I'm entertaining the idea of picking this up as a second lens for portrait and short tele use for my European cruise. I thought about the 85 f1.8 but I feel its too close to the 70.

That's the combo I use.
I find I'm using both together a lot more than I thought I would.
The 135 seems long, but isn't really on a 5D, and the two lenses seem to compliment each other very well.

I thought about a 100 F2, or 2.8 Macro instead, and tried all 3 before buying the 135. It's just that little bit longer, making it slightly more versatile.

The gap between 70 and 135 I simply make up with my feet.

I also thought about a 70-200, which is the most common partner lens to a 24-70. But, I've used lots of them before and most of what I shot was at around the 130-150 range.
So the 135 does mostly the same job, but is sharper, faster and one hell of a lot smaller and lighter to carry.

At some point I will fill the gap between the 24-70 and 135, most likely with an 85, but only for the extra versatility.

So long and thanks for all the flash
