I camped out a bit on this cold Honey Bee and ended up with a number of good shots as this Jumping Spider tried to hustle up some breakfast.

He stalked it a while, and finally grabed hold of the leaf and climbed aboard. The bee slowly turned around and the spider was gone.

After a few minutes, he hopped back up for another shot.

I'm not sure if the spider looks scarier in focus or out of focus - heh heh.

And finally, one last try....

The bee never really made an aggressive move. He would slowly spin around each time, and the spider would back up a bit and then jump away.

Later I watched the spider try to jump on to a small fly, but he missed it. Hopefully, it found some food later on.

Thanks all for viewing.

Nice captures. Didn't think the jumper would make a move on a prey that big but you'll never know.

Lovely captures- not a bee but a wasp so I'd guess the spider might know it might be on the loosing end of a fight.

I would think the spider would win if it could sneak up and get the first bite in, but if the wasp saw it coming it wouldn't be worth the risk.

beautiful looking Jumper but probably wise to back off such a muscular opponent although as Phil states they are capable of bringing down fairly large insects.
