Took these in very harsh sunlights on Saturday. Army lost the game by a field goal with 5 seconds left in the game.

Gotcha -

#1: Too dark. Yes, shooting in bright sunlight is challenging, which is why most folks over-expose for jerseys and try to bring out shadow detail. This shot, though, is just underexposed.

#2: OK shot, but not much action going on, plus the player behind the QB ruins the shot. Wait for another moment, and get the QB doing something interesting and something without anyone behind him. Also, looks like motion blur on this left foot? I can't see the EXIF 'cuz it's been stripped. As with number 1, you're still lacking shadow detail (though not as bad as the first shot).

#3 Shots of the backs of players aren't optimal, unless you're trying to shoot the defender, but even then, this isn't a peak action shot. I'd prefer to see some tension, like the defender hanging onto the QB, or obviously sacking/tackling him. As it is, all I can tell is the defender is coming after the QB which makes me ask "So?"

#4 OK, but again the mascot and cheerleader in the background reduces the impact of the shot, plus you've cut of 22's left foot.

Did you use the 1.4 Teleconverter on 70-200 2.8 or without? I am going to shoot a High School Football game this week. I am not sure if I will need the (1.4 convert.) or not. The game is at 4:30pm.
