Hey all, I bought a used XSI from a forum member back in March and it has started giving me intermittent Error 99 and "Card not properly formatted messages". The 99 error occurs with both my Sigma 18-50 and Canon 28-135. If I turn it off and remove and re-insert the battery and remove and re-attatch the lens and I can shoot fine the rest of the day. The card not formatted error occurs with a Transcend 8Gb class 6 card. I formatted the card in the camera before the trip I just took. When I got the error message I turned it off and removed and re-inserted the card, and the problem went away. My only other SD card is a old 1GB class 2 card I haven't tried yet. Also, I had a couple of pics come out way overexposed while shooting outdoors using P mode. Any thoughts or suggestions? Sample pic below

For the lens and exposure related errors, try cleaning/wiping the body and lens contacts with some isopropyl alcohol.

The over exposed image was taken using "manual" mode, was this metered correctly ?

Thanks for the link. I am almost 100% I was shooting in "P" not "M". All my shots that day were in P mode.

I think your hand accidentally nudged the dial! The EXIF data says manual mode

"Exposure program:1" Is that M? I just checked a bunch of my other shots and a lot say "aperture priority" when I know I had the dial on "P". That is strange, I will have to double check the dial while shooting to make sure I don't bump it into a different mode.
