1st day of School - C&C Wanted

I shot these on the first day of school. 6:50 AM EST my boys have to catch the bus. Early day for them but believe it or not, no complaints about getting up that early. These 2 are of my middle guy, the older one; I am not happy with them yet.

Shot with my 20, Sigma 24-60mm, and my 430 ex was used for fill on camera.

Both of them are great.... He is really shining like a boy should on his first day at school.

How much PP has you done on them? His skin looks almost to clean to be real.

Both pictures, and especially the first one would have looked much better without the car in the background.

I agree - both pics look great, lighting etc - but watch your background! Shooting so your house is the background or the mailbox, or a shrub or something would be better.

Understood about the backgrounds. But it was 6:45 in the morning and they were waiting on the bus.

Minimal PP was done on these. A little sharpening and clarity using onone software. I did nothing to touch up the skin.

Yeah especially since the boys are out of the house. My 3 year old started pre-school this morning. His first day.

Wifey is back to work, kids are at school, I am working. Then the chaos begins when they all come home!

The pictures are nice, and your boy is handsome! I would like to have seen a bit more of a contextual shot. A shot with the bus in the frame would have been nice, if that was possible.

great shot, especially considering it had on camera lighting
