Here is an accidental image while trying to capture a water droplet image -- our Chausie saw the water bowl and thought to partake:)

Several bleeding heart, very little processing. Slight crop and contrast, and for once, that's it!

Huhging, that is a great photo, the minimal bokeh really adds
to the overall effect of the shot.

Can some posters explain their view of bokeh as they relate to the photos here...the widipedia has this to say about bokeh:
Bokeh (derived from Japanese, a noun boke 暈け, meaning "blur" or "haze") is a photographic term referring to the appearance of point of light sources in an out-of-focus area of an image produced by a camera lens using a shallow depth of field.[1] Different lens bokeh produces different aesthetic qualities in out-of-focus backgrounds, which are often used to reduce distractions and emphasize the primary subject.

When I first posted a shot with bokeh it related to the first part of the definition, that being the out of focus points/sources of light, but it seemed that just out of focus backgrounds/foregrounds used to "reduce distractions and emphasize the primary subject" had become accepted...so I started shooting for that...but...

Has the definition of bokeh changed so that the background itself can be the primary subject?

I don't see this shot as having any real bokeh. There is out of focus, blurriness, but none of it adds in a pleasing way to enhance the main subject. It might create another level of interest or create a story so to speak but I don't see it as adding to the beauty of the photograph. It is that effect, almost like someone took a paintbrush to the photo
that I personally respond to, the "oooohhh" effect..

I've been forcing myself to shoot with the"brick". Besides having trouble with focus, I've found getting really nice bokeh difficult
