As for tips...
1 - Don't pixel peep. It will end up driving you insane.
2 - most (99%) of problems you will have are user error not your gear
3 - although it might annoy you, dust on your sensor will not damage your camera
4 - error 99 could mean anything from dirty lens contacts to a dead shutter
5 - don't get hung up on your shutter count. A shutter could die at any time. Worry about it if it dies, not before.
6 - don't drive on the wrong side of the road
7 - don't walk on broken glass with bare feet
