We are fortunate to live along the southern migration route, so from September to December we have lots over head. The Red Tail above is probably a resident bird though.

Fine shot & composition Scott, you captured his intensity in this image...
I have been watching hundreds of hawks flying along Lake Superior... but extremely high the last couple of days... they are "high tailing" it out of here :)

Thanks Dave....things are really picking up here too (north side of Lake Ontario). There were over 500 hawks through yesterday and the winds weren't even in the right direction for optimal movement. The broad wing kettles will soon be overhead :)

Great shots Scott....the only time I ever see these hawks, they're soaring high overhead...would love to find one perched and within camera range.
