We are fortunate to live along the southern migration route, so from September to December we have lots over head. The Red Tail above is probably a resident bird though.

I have been watching hundreds of hawks flying along Lake Superior... but extremely high the last couple of days... they are "high tailing" it out of here

Thanks Dave....things are really picking up here too (north side of Lake Ontario). There were over 500 hawks through yesterday and the winds weren't even in the right direction for optimal movement. The broad wing kettles will soon be overhead

Wonderful shot, the wings make it look angelic.

Great shots Scott....the only time I ever see these hawks, they're soaring high overhead...would love to find one perched and within camera range.

Now that the leaves are starting to fall, it is easier to see them. Very nice shot!
