Hey all,
I would like to ask, how can i check out anything on ebay website and the seller i will buy from? Are the reviews honest or trustworthy enough to take? what things i have to follow before i use or buy from ebay?

It counts the number of transactions and users can comment on the quality of the interaction. Its not perfect though, as occasionally accounts are hijacked, or sellers will churn inexpensive merchandise through bogus auctions in hopes of creating a false impression for bigger ticket purchases. Just check to see if they have sold like items over a period of time.

I look for the negative comments more than the positive comments. Sometimes, I can evaluate that the negative comment is an isolated incident. It happens from time to time. If net, overall, they look like a honest seller, I would feel comfortable going with them. Obviously, the more expensive the purchase, the more scrutiny I put them under. I would not buy the 'first' big-ticket item that the person offer. They should have a good record of big ticket item sales for me to trust them, purchasing a big ticket item. You can view the last transactions done by the seller, just to make sure one was not selling $0.50 pens before putting a $2k lens for sale. I usually go by reviews and the overall rating. And when i view items i see an icon or symbol saying "Top-rated Seller", is this telling anything to trust the seller? I am really in rush to buy an item to get it here before October, so i don't want to wait longer if i can't trust or not sure about the seller, i never bought from ebay before and i really don't know how it works there, so i am really don't know if i have to order any from there. Only you can determine your level of trust. I think the icons for top rated seller come from having a certain amount of sales (volume) with few complaints. Its probably a reasonable indicator that they are not a scam.

I may try to go with one then, i found the item with different [more than one] sellers, and they have reviews above 2000, all of them have about less than 3-4 neg reviews, so if you were in my place, will you go with any of them of that? Probably. Having sold on ebay, its hard to totally avoid bad feedback as some buyers have unreasonable expectations. Given that you will likely require international shipping you might want to contact the seller and ask if there are any difficulties involved before placing your order.

I see, this should be a good sign to go with a seller or not, the problem can be many things, it could be the delay of the item shipping, or when arrived then clearance, another issue could be if the item is defective or have any minor issue, then it will be a nightmare for refund or returning and so. Hmmmm, this is a good idea, i prefer to call and see, but i hope the call will help to make it a good impression or review about the seller, also any great website can have some down/neg feedback, B&H has some neg feedback i read before, i ordered from KEH twice and every time the shipping is delayed or taking longer time which is a neg feedback for me, but still they are top seller, so should i decide and go with ebay now? Using eBay since 1999, and I have had one item never arrive, and got my money back... In fact, the sellers i am trying to buy from one of them [even all of them] only sell by paypal, i placed the item on the order basket and it directed me to paypal to pay, and i also prefer paypal, but how i can get my money back from paypal if i am in UAE?
