F-5 is the strongest image with the P-38 static a close second.

Having a hard time though with the keystoned roofline behind the P-38. Makes the eye want to see the image as crooked even if the plane is sitting level. Maybe might have tilted down to hide that roofline altogether or perhaps a tighter crop?

I'm digging the processing on the P-38 static. I like the pattern being thrown by the corrugated roof in the background. The Shark Pitot Tube cover is a nice detail. I'd have put the focus on the eye of the shark though and not mid body.

Raptor head on taxi is nice but the stack of taxiway signs keeps pulling my eye to camera right. Great "Cylon" glow in the HUD!

A few Dust Bunnies need cleaning in some of your darker areas of the F-5 shot as well as the in-flight shots.

Solid Effort all around. Glad to see folks pushing the processing envelope some!

Thanks! It was the one shot out of about 100 that worked, but I was also only shooting 1/80s to get a strong blur. For Reno I'll probably used 1/125s

the F-5 is my favorite as well, and i pushed the edge of my skills with the PP.

the P-38, i was going for a more WWII vintage look to it. in LR3 it looked a little more grainy (a good thing), but on Flickr it tonned it down some. i'll mess with the crop and the roofline to see if i can get that optical illusion out of there.

i wish i could go back and re-do the shark, because on my 5D i didn't notice the focus was that far off of the eye, no excuse, just lazy focusing.

for the Raptor taxi i may go back and tone down the yellow in the sign, that may help it not pull your eye away from the jet.

good eye on the dust. no matter how clean i try and keep my 5D, it just takes one lens change and i seem to attract dust. it just means i need to pay more attention to cloning in between cleanings

Jay, the Master of Aviation photography/art, thanks for the C&C. I actually took a look at a lot of your work and tried to put myself in that frame of mind when I was shooting. All shots were with a 100-400, so it was interesting to make the shot work with the reach i was getting.

Man, those first two really rock! Two of my favorite planes as well. However, the P-38 is not Glacier Girl. GG is a P-38E and your picture is either a P-38J or L.
