I had your same dilema a few weeks ago, and ultimately went with the T2i. Best decision I ever made. The differences seem minimal but the added iso range alone is worth it. Check out this link http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/compare_post.asp (external link)

They have the same ISO range, 100-12800 but the T2i is supposed to handle noise better. I found my T1i a bit too noisy for my tastes when I had it for a year.

You probably want to read the sticky threads as it will answer many beginner questions.

Digital cameras have noise in the images when you record them, especially at high ISO. It shows up as dots of color or white in the image. The camera can remove them somewhat, you can remove them better in your computer. Different cameras show more noise at the same ISO. You can remove the noise later but this often removes resolution and makes the image look soft.

If you do videos, the T2i has full manual control and the T1i doesn't. In practical terms, with the T1i you can't adjust the aperture to control depth-of-field of your scene shot... well... you could... with a fully manual lens or with a small 'hack' which is cumbersome to say the least. Stick with the T2i if you are going to do some more creative movie shots.

T2i also has an external mic and some manual audio level controls while the T1i just has built-in mic with auto level control. That said, neither one is ready for creative movie shots without a lot more equipment unless you're doing Blair Witch Project II running around in the dark forest stuff.
