I have been having a problem with the Manual setting in that when I set the apperture to saw 1/1000 and then focus it automatically takes the image at 1/250? I have no idea why it changes? Any insights? Please?

If you simply disable the flash, your 1/1000 setting will work. It looks like it's a camera limitation that can't be worked around as far as I can tell.

I don't know about other brands or models, but my G1 has the same 1/250s limitation when flash is on. I think it's explained somewhere in the owner's guide. Mitch
