So I am thinking I want a 60D. How long would you wait. Generally there is some concern about buying electronics to soon after they come out. Has there been any major issues on previous camera releases and how long till they are worked out.

I'd wait until the 70D comes out before buying the 60D.

;)

I'm in the UK and I plan to wait 2 months because that's how long it takes for the price to settle.

And we have a sales tax increase in the new year.

But my plan might change depending on trade in offers for my previous body.

I’m not waiting; I’m buying as soon as it comes out. But then I’ve also been known to run with scissors.

Exactly what I plan on doing. Give it a quick test run at the store then bite the bullet.

You could consider waiting a little bit to see if anybody buys one and decides to sell it. Usually when a camera comes out people will buy it, shoot for a week or so, and decide they want something different/in a different price range and will sell it slightly used.

But then again, I'm not one to buy new.

Excellent idea ... I snagged a 7D for a steal of a price because the new owner didn't want to take the time to learn the AF system. When I got there he had all kinds of settings improperly set. I reset the camera, took a few test shots with my 100-400 lens, checked them on the computer and made the deal.

Camera was two weeks old with all paperwork including receipts.
