My second attempt at newborns. We tried and tried for "the pose" but she wasn't having it, but we got this little grin instead. These were taken with a 40D and 50mm 1.2L. C&C welcome :D

The setup in front of a window, the Mom's bar stools and some Home Depot clamps

Aw! I love the grin! I like your blanket a lot too...where did you find that? Thanks for posting set-up shots...it gives me an idea of how to set up something without having someone back there trying to hold a blanket up for an hour. :)

Thanks!

It's actually not a blanket yet, it's fabric that my friend is going to use as backing for some blankets she's making, I think she got it at Joanne's Fabrics.

I think the way I have the blanket falling down behind the bean bag was a mistake, if it was sort of stretched loosely to the bar stools I think it would have looked better in the photo.

The clamps holding the blanket are called hand clamps, they were $5. :)

I think the way you have the blanket draped looks fine in the photo. I would say that the bottom of the blanket looks a little blown but I'm sure that was probably done in PP so an easy fix. Cute little guy! :)

Very cute!! I think the blanket dropped like that is neat, I was actually planning on doing a couple of shots with the "dropped" blanket at my next shoot because I've seen it done a few times and liked it ;) I do usually drape mine up like you said but I like both! Love the little smile!
