Well after a very succesful start with lots of interest we are no one week short of the actual event.

Time to finalise who's comeing, were we are going, and how we're getting there.

So far:

Im providing a 7 seater luxury van for the saturday with 5 free spaces and lots of room for gear.
Im based in East Auckland and will be making the sunrise then coming back out east to pick up my g/f before heading back out again for the days shooting and sunset before heading back home again, prehaps after a beer and dinner in the city somewhere if there is enough interest.

Anyone who would like a ride its first in first served :)

The days shooting will so far consist of: Sunrise at Westhaven marina.
Trip to the zoo and western springs area, then head out west shooting as we go till we reach Piha for some sunset shots.
Then back into the city for some night shooting, dinner and a beer.

On the sunday there is a possiblity of shooting BloKarts in Papakura.

If your coming please put your hand up, and if you have any interesting sights to see also let it beknown.

Heres the chance to organise transport and finalise meeting times, and also share enough contact information that we can all meet up succesfully.

I think at last count we had about 20 people interested, so far I know of only 3 who have dropped out, this could be a real awsome trip!

TRANSPORT LIST

Moppies Bus:
Moppie,
Moppies Girl Fiend
Peter
ScotttNZ
3 seats remain

Hello....long time listener, first time caller....

I'm keen to come along on Saturday and meet you all. Peter has been keeping me informed with what's happening.
I probably won't be able to stay the whole day as my wife is away and I need to organise someone to look after my son, but I'm keen to come along anyway. So I will bring my own car.

I'm an absolute beginner, so hopefully I can learn something from you guys.

I'm in! Probably most of the day, not sure about the early start though

Anyway, my wife is out of town with our wiggler, actually with our most welcome new commer Scottnz's wife!

I doubt I will be around for the Sunday, I have an appointment with a back yard and 500 pavers.

Hmmm, also out east, might be in for the luxury transport...

I'm in! should be a great day. Have to clean the sensor sometime this week but hopefully should get it done by Friday. I'll probably be taking my car as well so will have some spare seats if anyone's interested.

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

Cool, seems our plans are still confirmed. I'm hoping this rough weather passes over, and should be clear on Saturday. Leaving high visibility skies behind. ;)

PS, I would love a seat.

My car is dead. The engine froze from lack of oil. Laugh all you like.
Garage will have a new engine, cam belt, full service, clutch by Thursday... minus $1800.. That's the price of a 100-400L!!!!
:(

Ok, Iv added a transport list :)

Running a car dry on oil is pretty embaracing, especuialy with the warning lights most cars have.
Still $1800 to have a new engine in and running isn't to bad.

Pete, sounds like you've lost a syncro :(
Time for a new gearbox, but also check its not just a problem with the selector mechanism.

Well, I have recuited the Inlaws for morning baby sitting duties and my parents for the afternoon, so I should be able to make the whole day.
Pete, you need a new car, with what you have spent on it lately!

Would you like a seat on the bus?

Pencil me in for a seat on the Bus. I will confirm once my baby sitting arrangements are finalised. What time are you planning to be back out Pakuranga way?

I can meet you at Pete's place if that is easier.

Thanks!

I was looking at heading out for the Sunrise nice and early, leave about 6ish to get there with time to find a nice spot and set up.

Ill come back in soon afterwards, and head out again about 9ish, would be nice to get to the zoo when it opens at 10.
Get early light, and less people.

The rod that holds the gear shift has broken, easy fix appranlty, fortunalty the gear box is fine, if it had gone, as Scott said, I would be shopping for a new car on Sunday!
