Hiking on a trail on Mt. Rainier we came upon this small waterfall. First shot everything was exposed great, except a very hot spot where a sunbeam was hitting the apex of the waterfall. I shot three more successively darker images until the hot spot was gone, but by then the background was nearly black. So I used Photomatix to combine them into this image.

At first I was not liking it so much, but it is growing on me. :)

Any comments are welcome.

Love it, myself I might crop it a bit tighter on the left side, but does have feel, and depth.

I like it. It has a sorta surreal, artistic look to it. Almost like a painting.

Too much HDR for my pallet. HDR is a nice tool to bring out the spectrum of light, but in this example it all looks too much like a color pencil drawing.

You've all stated my feelings exactly; appreciators and detractors! :)

Thanks for looking!

I like it. You might try combining the images as layers and dodging and burning with layer masks to achieve a more realistic rendering...

I love it ..... simple as that .I like paintings and like colored pencil drawings also. It is done tastefully and well. It certainly has merit as an image.

I like this, has a very mystical look to it, waiting to see the faeries dancing...

Location seems real nice, but a bit to fake looking with the saturation for my liking. Great shot otherwise

Very mystical feel to it. In this instance I have no problem with HDR, not all photographs have to be realistic or exact reproductions of what was seen, we can try to be creative and artistic and show things in a different light.... like this does. I really like it a lot.
