Hi, I'm a newb just getting into off-camera flash and was wondering what's a popular 5 in 1 reflector? I'm thinking I probably need a boom as I usually won't have an assistant. I currently have a 430 ex II, impact stand and umbrella.

You could DIY on the cheap with paint cans filled with cement and a stick inside along with some clamps. You can get the clamps below on Amazon or you can get them in most any hardware or automotive store. It sounds ghetto but this method is actually used in some studios. Another method would be to build a PVP frame which could be used to hold backdrops or whatever.

I use California Sunbounce, I've got a 4'x6' silver/white with a black cloth I hang over it when I use it as a portrait backdrop, a 3'x4' silver/white and a little 2'x3' handheld job. Love them and use them indoors a lot with my strobes/speedlight off camera flash.

I'm with Jannie on this california sunbounce idea. I have numerous reflectors of different sizes, shape and colors....but the sunbounce is the nicest.
Pricey....but worth it to me.
