Hi guys I am a biginner and I need critique of "My Best" shots. Basically, I'm looking for opinions to composition, exposure, creativity or any thing that a biginner should know.

Short Intro. of my Photography background. I'm self-thought, I learned mostly from the internet and books but really wanted to go to school and learned proper photography. My Interest are in landscape, head and half body shots as well as flash photography. I bought my camera 6 months ago and I'm totally hooked. every month I learned something new and I believe my photo actually improve. For the first 2 months I shoot mostly in P and AV Then, I started to learn to shoot in M and now I shoot mostly in M. My format preference is RAW as it's easy to manipulate the photos if my exposure is incorrect but I'm now learning to shoot in jpeg as I don't really like spending my time in front of the monitor. I realize that if I just meter the scene right then I don't need to do the post-proccessing.

My setup: Canon 50D, Canon 24-70, 430exII flash, Slik tripod and Pixel Knight Flash trigger, CPL.

Here's the link of my photos --> http://www.flickr.com/photos/53743194@N06/ (external link)

Please feel free to critique me as I really want to learn.

Thanks in advance.
Hermano

First, why don't you pick one or two of your favorite shots and link them so people don't have to go to your flicker page. That way we can comment on specifics instead of 50odd photos.

That said, I think the elephant and temple shots were my favorites, and the stranded boat shot has potential. Your people shots are fascinating, but watch oversaturation and composition. Might be a good idea to read up on some composition suggestions.

I would personally continue to take photos in raw - every photo needs some post processing, so might as well make it easier on yourself.

@mpphotography:

Thanks for the critique and really appreciate it. I will mark that over saturation and lack of composition.

By the way, I joined a Photomarathon contest and I won 3rd for the "Upside-down" topic. Here's the link -> http://www.flickr.com …in/set-72157624866912159/ (external link)

I also include my other entries for the "Light" and "Stylish" topics.

Thanks,
Hermano
