Trusty old 420EX died, time to replace...

OK so my ten year old 420EX finally died time to replace it then

I was just going to rush out and buy a 430EXII as a more modern replacement but thought I would check in on other options with you guys first.

First up, only only ever use the flash on camera when I am out and about, mainly as a bounce flash, so I don't want anything too heavy or bulky.

Second up, I have a full four strobe studio flash setup, so I doubt I will do the whole multiple speed-lite wireless thing.

So is it worth looking at the 580EXII or is that money better spent on a wide angle lens which is also on my to do list

I say go for the 430EX II. You won't be disappointed.

You could get a Yongnuo 468 if you want to same some money. I have one, and it works flawlessly.

If youre used to the build quality of the 420ex then the 430exII is only going to impress you.

Thanks all, budget for a 430EXII is no issue so I will probably keep to Canon.
