Took these shots from North Head, in Auckland on a cold winters' morning back in early June. It's the first time in years I had got up for a sunrise off the eastern shores. Typically I just shoot sunsets on the rugged west coast beaches such as Piha and Muriwai.

A rare sight of coral washed ashore (never seen that around Auckland before)

Nice set, Warren. I've stood around there where you took those shots but not in such lovely conditions :)

Cheers Chris.
Will have to message you for your schedule around Christmas time. When will you know your roster? Looking to be walking around London 13/14/15th December with Neal and others maybe. Then busy with wedding and family, before maybe a day free on 26th December.

Sure, I'll be up for a reunion, make sure you jump into the UKSE thread to give us all some warning :)

Look forward to it, see you then.

Beautiful shots, the mountain makes an interesting backdrop. I especially like number 6, with the coral in it.

Thanks Eric,

Rangitoto erupted and was formed around 600 years ago. It's relatively fresh!

Awesome series; I can't even pick a favorite. There are just too many things I like about each of these shots.

Very nice. I love the purple and it's great how you took the time to get the things that are in the foreground.

Cheers mate, yeah was using a cord and trying to time the rocks, and the water spreading as far up the beach as possible.

Thanks, can thank the 1.2 (4 stop ND filter) for the colour. ;)
