I had quite a few shots that had good lines but just didn't stand out enough - this is one of them. I tried something a little different here just to see what would come of it.

Thanks guys... This was a new style I've been trying to build, mostly suited for people shots - it's pretty grungy but I thought it might look cool to apply to some of these balloon shots, especially some of the darker ones such as this one:

Un edited - SOOC:

and with my new style applied:

Personally, I agree with my daughter and I find the setting not too effective for this particular application but I can see it might be useful for certain types of landscape shots that you may want to express impending storm or something to that effect.

You mentioned people shots: care to show us those too? I assume the preset takes care of the overly pink skintone and render it like ukiyo-e portrait, perhaps.

Knowing you, I do not doubt it...

2 Names I will not be able to get are:

christophercross.com - for obvious reasons
christophercrossphotography.com - can you believe that someone else named Christopher Cross is a photographer and beat me to it?

Hey, sorry... just saw your post.

Yes, as I said, I was experimenting with a new preset I've been working on.

Here's a shot from tonight, using the same preset. The skin gets grunged up and I tweak the reds down a lot, which in this case, makes the skintone go a bit yellow and faded, which I think works.

^ looks great :)

It'll make a great album cover for a band that straddles somewhere in between indie rock and heavy metal - if there is such a crossover:lol:
