North Carolina - Cliff at Bird Rock Falls

The waterfall below this cliff is Bird Rock Falls. The cliff had a few odd colored spots of yellow and browns. I couldn't get close enough to figure out what the heck it is. At first glance I thought it was paint, but only way you could paint that would be with a paintball gun, and since it would be splattered everywhere I don't think that could be it. It almost looks like it's some type of moss. Bird Rock Falls is a fun place, extremely slippery rocks. I used a rope in one area so that if I slipped on the wet rocks I wouldn't find myself swimming, or atleast not without ripping my arm off first. Unfortunately I arrived 30 mins later than I had hoped, so majority of my pictures didn't come out as well as this first one did.
