Very bleak and grey day today. Yesterday was much better in the morning , and I suppose I should go through all of them before I do todays shots! But anyway, I figured the overcast humid air would bring out something a little different.

Here are a few that stand out from today in amongst the stupid amounts of images I have. I never would have guessed I would have taken so many images over 3 days.

CAC Sabre, only flying example.

The very last public display, and of course, the famous dump and burn of the beloved pig before they are all turned into aluminum cans.

Thanks guys, overall I'm pretty happy with how most came out generally.

Photos guy. You know those 3 words you have down the bottom in your sig "move your feet" well I did for 3 days solid! I actually kept reminding myself about it. I even gave up a couple of good spots I slowly worked into to keep moving.
But it paid off. I just kept walking, not staying in one spot for more than an hour or so. I went to the fence, I went back a fair way to get more side shots, I went over to the parking area every now and again. I walked the length of the runway multiple times (restricted to the public area) My feet kill, but if I sat in the one spot, I'd have a gazillion of the same shot and nothing else.

I have learnt a bucket load from these forums, and from studying the images from guys like flying photog (Jay) and the like, listening to the way you plan stuff, and trying to pre empt it. I knew the sabre was coming back to park, so I put myself there, except for the big guy who was right in front, right on the rope. hence the off centre composition of that one.

Strong set. The last pic with the flare is something I've never seen before at an airshow here in Canada.

Very nice series. Well done. Love the vapour on the f-18. There was practically NO vapour like that on Saturday. With the overcast conditions you have done a superb job.

Cheers

Boggy

Not any more. That was it's last public display, (bar a final on home base private send off) and I think they have decommissioned the majority already. Their replacement is the new Rhino.

Thanks, this was part of a group of 4 and they do a mock close in dogfight which is pretty cool watching them try and turn in tighter and take each other out. They then proceeded to do a 4 ship side by side pass overhead at 500 knots, 250 ft, now that was sweet!

Hi boggy, yes mate, the only ship that was making vapour on Saturday was the Rhino, which I must say, was flown VERY conservatively compared to the bugs. Maybe they just don't have the time in them yet to be going crazy at a show, or they are being gentle on them for some reason... I don't know? I was hoping to see it REALLY show it's stuff. The solo bug display which was the last display of the show and the last airshow display of the pilot was simply awesome. I just sat back for that and enjoyed the flight

Nice pics. I got a couple of pics of the mustangs while they were at RAAF Wagga fueling up. Was virtually parked right next to the runway while they were taking off.

A couple more to max the thread

As much as I am happy I got some half decent shots in the bleak conditions, I really would have liked a nice day for this formation.
