I went to a concert with my wife and friends last week and didn't bother trying to bring my DSLR assuming the venue's rules. So I figured it was the perfect time to try out the 8mp camera on my new Verizon Wireless Droid X smart phone.

While not nearly as sharp as my DSLR and a fast lens, it did extremely well for a camera phone and not bad compared to a P&S. It does have a lot of noise at iso400 and above (yeah that's right my phone has adjustable iso) so I ran these through Noise Ninja.

Here is what I got that night and remember camera phone!

This is from a *phone*?

Wow.

#2 is nice. Pity about the focus though.

Yup from a phone. I'm happy it was in focus as much as it is.

I think Wild Child is pretty accomodating to photographers. I've been wanting to shoot them when they play down here, but my schedule never seems to support it...

Yeah but the venue might not be, and the crowd in the pit was a little too rowdy for my DSLR.

In all the years I've been shooting live shows, if the band was okay with me shooting, I've never had a venue tell me no.

As for the pit, well, I got nothin'...

:D

How were these guys in concert?

Yup from a phone. I'm happy it was in focus as much as it is.

The line between P&S camera's and phone cameras is becoming blurry.
I can see the day coming where all P&S camera's will be on a phone.

The Captain and crew finally got their stuff together, now if we can only remember where we left it.

Awesome! We loved these guys, even the original members of The Doors said they where the best they heard and the closest thing to the real Doors.
