So I am practicing these days and she (found her through local community ad) wanted to help me out.
We met in a park near my place early in the morning
Let me know what you think of these :) I haven't shown her these yet and am very nervous. I am not getting paid for these but still...

I think you are doing a great job with the focus and exposure, but some of the location choices are not as great. For example, the middle 3 have a distracting pole right behind the model. I struggle with this often, too, but you always have to check the backgrounds. They often end up being as important as the subject.

#5 is probably the best. Definitely watch your background. There's a pole growing out from her in #1 and 2.

Not a bad series over all.

#1 - you should tilt the camera the other way so it does not look like she is trying to hold up a tree that is about to fall on her.

#3 - Her toes are cut off a little.

#4 - already mentioned by others.

#6 - Not a good pose at all. If that was a guy, I would say he is taking a piss. But since she is a gal, what does it look like she is doing?

#1 - my attention was drawn to the road on that left that leads to nothing (also might have to do with everything is a bit underexpose except the road).

4,5 are my faves
in 5 if you crop the bench out of the bottom rt corner i think its woulb be the best
6 is nice too but in a way kinda awkward

all your colors are spot on (for my laptop) and the images are sharp, You need to work on your composition great job

She is very pretty. She probably did not need all that skin smoothing.
Next time find a better location and use a larger F-stop to get rid of all thos distracting backgrounds.
Choose a great background/setting first then put her in it.
A good effort, some things to work on :).

Thanks! I am so very new to this. So yes, I struggled a bit with location choices and her pose. I agree that I didn't watch for the poles in the background. I was a bit nervous and should learn to relax and take charge. :)

I had imagined in my head about that shot before we got there and that;s the one most of you like. I must prepare myself before I head out I think.

Thanks!

I see what you are saying for #1, 3 and 4 and for #6 we both LOL after she gave me that pose. We both liked that plant next to her but did not know how to pose. So I agree with you

Thanks for you comment! That lead to a play area for kids and I had that cloned out. Good that you didn't spot that! It is a bit underexposed.I agree.

You have no idea how happy I am to read the compliments you have given me. Thank you for that! :)
I have to learn more about compositions...any site recommendations?

Less skin smoothing ..got it! I wanted to blur the backgrounds to get a better bokeh but I kinda rushed through it since I was nervous..there is always next time! Thanks for your comments! :)
