Hard to tell how good the camera is, since you can look at his pictures from before the X100 and they are great as well.

This looks really interesting and it sounds like the perfect companion for the street photographer.

I'm guessing this camera has autofocus? I've never used a range finder let alone a digital one, but if your field of view is not through the lens of the camera like a SLR, how do you know if your subject is in correct focus?

It's not a rangefinder.

With an actual rangefinder you're basically aligning the image in the center of the frame when focusing.

So then, on the x100, how do you know if your subject is in proper focus using just the optical viewfinder. Does it use a rangefinder-like focusing 'mechanism', not sure if that was the right term, by aligning the image in the center of the frame.

This promo video that's probably been posted already answered my question.

Link?

@ Amazon I typed "finepix x100" and out of 4 pages of results I didn't see the camera.

These photos and videos have actually left me underwhelmed to be honest. I dont see anything in terms of amazing photo quality, but maybe thats just me.

I didn't see anything for a pre order. But if I was you I would sign up for when it becomes available and hope you read the email as soon as you get it and purchase it at Amazon ASAP.
