What's with all the hate on Leica photographers? For some reason a lot of POTN members act like the photographers are super egotistical even though I've had the complete opposite experience with the ones I've met.

There are those who love Leicas because they love rangefinders and the precision and durability of Leica equipment is worth the extra cost. Then there are the guys/gals who have more money than they know what to do with it (there are a lot of trust-fund hipsters these days with Leicas, for example) and who simply want the most expensive possible gear. THOSE are the ones who tend to draw the most ire. Fuji X100 / Sony NEX-7 / Contax G 45mm f/2 / The ghosts of 3 Canon bodies past / A meagre amount of talent

Was that his guess? Or did the people who are in charge of development at Fugi actually tell him that? Seems to me that talking about an x300 and beyond is jumping the gun just a little bit since their first generation model isn't available for purchases yet. He didn't frame it as a guess or opinion, but a firm statement. I didn't question how he knew - he is the rep for Fuji so he obviously is privy to more details than those of us outside their organization. I expressed my personal concern about yet another lens mount specification and he said it would be a new mount. Fuji's previous DSLRs were based on Nikon mount and he said "why would we want to pay Nikon licensing fees to use their mount?" Edmonton portrait photographer

Initial worldwide orders are greater than the amount they've made in the first run. Additional supplies will be available but will take about another month and a half to hit stores after the initial deliveries in March. Oh no -Tom

Did Fuji underestimate demand or perhaps their factory can only produce so many at a time? I could be wrong, but perhaps manufacturing a camera like this is complex and requires specialized equipment. So, they can't slam 'em out as fast as photographers want them. I'm just guessing though. I sure hope they aren't deliberately holding back-that would be cruel!

Like anything else, it's got good and bad points. I think the X100 is going to be a perfect balance between point and shoots and DSLRs. I want it. I want it NOW! I want the preciousssss...yes, my precioussssss

Damn or maybe I should just wait a while and pick it up this summer. Bloody hell it looks nice, this camera would suit me perfectly. Finally something you can grab for holidays and parties without feeling like the designated photographer. Lots of old stuff but hey I am a student

If I can have this camera with interchangeable lenses. I would be extremely happy. And if they were M Mount... Even happier. Wishful thinking? Patrick Choi
