I thought the box had to be up and to the left of your subject, or you should use the lower right corner?

Well, if you're correcting for parallax, essentially, you would put the green box slightly up and to the left...

Yes, I've only had my x100 for a week, but am LOVING it with a deep, lasting, abiding love... or at least until the x200 comes along with a lock on the exposure compensation dial. :D I keep moving it around inadvertently. Impressed so far, but still working out the kinks. I tell you it does make me realize how much I love an optical viewfinder. I don't really use the EVF, except in macro mode. The macro mode on this camera is pretty awesome!

Tempting indeed! I think stock levels are going to be pretty solid going forward. I don't think it'll be in stock constantly, but a lot more than it used to be. Goodbye $1500 eBay sales!

Or you could use that money to upgrade your 70-300 VR to the 70-300 IS L . :D

dear god why would I get that lens? $1500? I can get a 100-400 for that which I've had... but I don't use a tele that often, so I'm much rather have a $400 tele that is great optically and weighs and costs less so I don't mind not using it as much. I was honestly considering selling it to help fund the X100 if I got one (with no replacement plans).

But yeah, I'm rationalizing the not getting an X100 by reminding myself the 5Dii w/ 24L and 85 1.4 is a better family/low light camera and the NEX5 is a better ski camera. If the X100 isn't better at either, I don't NEED it, plus sailing with a $1200 camera wouldn't be the best idea (even in a pelican). I am considering the X10 once I see some sample images because it replaces my NEX in every way if the IQ is good outside in daylight.

I still want an X100, but I want to try one before spending $1200 to try one. A friend grabbed one today, so I'll see how his is the next time he's in town.

Just got home from work. Good thing it's already out of stock again or I may not have resisted. Patiently waiting the x10.

OK, I found one finally. Looks like they still have a few in stock as well:
http://www.huntsphotoandvideo.com …244&mfg=Fujifilm&show=yes (external link)

Anyway, the IQ on this thing is amazing. The sensor easily beats my 7D and is close to (if not better?) my 5Dii. Even in low light. It's just crazy good. But the AF is terrible (and this is coming from a 5D owner). The AF issue really comes down to the macro rollover for me. It hunts if you use macro mode in low light which is fair, but the issue is I'm usually right around that 1.5~2' range from my kids... So if I use macro mode, it's slow but eventually gets there (after they've moved). If I don't use macro mode, sometimes it nails the focus, sometimes it can't (because I'm too close). So a big part of it will be learning the distance to keep from my subjects. But even when you're far enough away, the way the screen locks up with the initial preview as it's focusing makes it tough to see what's going on. Time will tell if it's worth keeping for me. Right now it's all about the AF though, the menus also suck but I don't need them (and I've learned to deal with a NEX!)... If I'm outside it's fine, but so would a P&S/X10...

this was pushed +1 in LR and still looks pretty damn good noise wise:

Interesting to note comparisons with this camera and 7d's ,5dMk2 etc etc Obviously the exceptional IQ has hit a note with many users as it did with me.

The issue still for me is AF .....Ive found its actually better to go into manual focus mode and use the af button on back of camera to af focus . Seems to me to be faster and more AF positive hits this way as against normal af focus via the shutter release..And as an earlier poster stated....keeper rates are low . I dont mind this because bottom line is I had the same issues with all cameras until I knew how to work within the cameras capabilities.

Here is a shot from last week

see, that works very well for me in normal light, but as soon as I get into my house it works much better with AF-S but using the EVF... It seems the camera doesn't like me using the OVF in low light, but that's fine with me as I really only need the OVF for bright daylight/outside anyway...

its seems to me, and don't get me wrong I erally like this camera in concept, but for such a premium price this camera has alot of faults. focusing seems to be the most consistent problem I read about. That being said I am still very interested in taking one out to replace my rangefinder.
