I had to walk up 8+ flights of stairs in an apartment complex parking garage to get this shot. After resting for a while, I finally got the entire view of the city in frame. CC?

I had to bump up the Edge Glow 'Strength' a little more than I wanted to because I was getting some weird artifacts in some of the buildings during PP. I started a thread here: https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=933176 but still haven't found out why I was getting them.

Seems like you have a bit of HDR going on and to be completley honest I think it works well with the image. The building seem nice and crisp.

Negatives:
The Haloing around the buildings, mostly pronounced on the left.
The distortion. The most outter buildings are almost twice as far from the edge of the frame on the top as they are on the bottom of the building. LR 3.2 has a great new feature to correct that and adobe CS5 has a feature as well

Thanks for the comments. I am using both of those applications; what is the feature called?

Also, I see the term "halos/haloing" being thrown around a lot here. What exactly are you talking about? :o

I think its a spectacular shot but I also dont like the PP. Its not bad at all, just not my taste. Looks lke you used a gradient to darken the sky which in turn darkened the tops of your buildings.

Thanks. The shot was pretty dark to start out with...it was a dark grey-cloudy day. Once I processed the HDR, it took on that 'gradient look' and I just rolled with it. :)

So I decided to try Photomatix. Tone mapped and reprocessed.

Better?
It was much easier to avoid halos using Photomatix over Photoshop CS5.

Thanks! I wish the clouds would have been a little more cooperative. The tops of the buildings are pretty dark. I tried to lighten them up a bit during/after tone mapping, but they just looked washed out. Oh well, I like the way it turned out. I think I'll be using Photomatix from now on. ;)

Looks very good, I'd just be tempted to add a little contrast.
