back in the duckweed pond over at the Closter Nature Center, there's always a group of birds that sees me coming a mile away and they'd fly away...

anywhoo, it seems they're a very pretty kind of ducks...

struggled a bit with the 400 5.6 as i'm still learning to use this lens but i finally got 2 ok pics of em...

i hear they're wood ducks?

Nice find and captures... the young "woodies" have some interesting colors.

Hang in that area, the juvenile males will stay together for a good while, and they do like to stay in one or two key areas quite often as they bunch up. You,ll catch them out feeling nice one day and they will really pose for you when they are in full color!!! The colors will change very quickly in the next few weeks.

Just an "ole dog" trying to learn "new tricks"! helpful advice is always welcome!!
