Powershot 1400SD or Powershot 3500SD

I am needing an other point and shoot to replace my A720 its finally crapped out. I really like the elphs.. they are small and sleek. I like both of these cameras and have seen mixed reviews for both. I need something i can carry around and use instead of my DSLR im tired of having to use it for snap shots of my kids. Anyone have any suggestions i really need to make my mind up in a few days and i dont know anyone that has it or anything.. Any Help?? I'd appreciate it.

If you want ultimate portability, the SD1400 is the smaller/thinner/lighte​r of the two.

You could also save money by getting the SD1300 if HD movies aren't important to you.

I'm looking to get a new compact Canon too. My SD1000 lacks IS, and my SD700 IS hasn't been reliable recently after a lot of snorkeling time in an underwater case.
